A mom-led forest school co-op in the woods

Weekly, year-round sessions in the same woodland where children grow through child-led exploration, appropriate risk, and deep nature connection — with their mothers as active partners.

What Makes Us Different

Truly

child-led

Open exploration forms the heart of every session; adult invitations are optional and follow the children’s curiosities and emerging interests.

Same woods, every week,

all year

Coming back to the same woods week after week lets children know the land intimately, notice its seasonal shifts, and develop a genuine sense of belonging and stewardship.

Holistic growth through real experience

Climbing, tools, weather, and social challenges develop physical confidence, emotional resilience, problem-solving, and real-world competence.

A true

co-op of

mothers

This is not drop-off. Moms actively co-create sessions, share skills, and form lasting friendships while raising children together outdoors.

Small

by design

With a tightly knit mixed-age group, every child is known, relationships deepen over time, and no one fades into the background.

Who This Is For

TCFS is for homeschooling and nature-oriented families seeking an immersive, year-round outdoor community — not a traditional school, enrichment class, or casual playgroup. It suits families who value child-led exploration, appropriate risk, active parent partnership, and the slow rhythms of the woods.

We keep our group intentionally small and selective. Openings are infrequent and filled through a thoughtful application process that prioritizes strong philosophical alignment and long-term commitment for both new families and the existing community.
